Description
This lovingly crafted rag doll measures approximately 21 inches long. The body is stuffed with straw while the arms and legs are filled with cotton. The head itself seems to be filled with rags, as it’s more solid than the cotton arms and legs. The face is beautifully embroidered with blue eyes, lashes, and red lips. She has either short brown hair or is wearing a bonnet. Definitely take note of the hands, which include individual fingers! This doll is wearing two pieces of clothing, a white slip and a long white gown. Both look to be Victorian, with mother-of-pearl buttons and darling embroidered eyelet features.
Condition is good considering the age. There are signs of repair on the doll herself and the cloth that she’s made from has discolored and is starting to deteriorate in places. The clothing pieces also have some discoloration and deterioration. The face is still beautiful and with just a little bit of TLC she could be displayed for many years to come.
